On this sacred evening, as the year comes to a close, we gather in community to honor Obalúayé, the Orisa of healing, transformation, and renewal, through a Song and Drum Class followed by a profound End of Year Cleansing Ritual.

About the event
This gathering coincides with the second day of Kwanzaa, embracing the principle of Kujichagulia (Self-Determination). Kujichagulia invites us to reclaim our power, define ourselves, and take ownership of our healing and transformation. These themes harmonize beautifully with Obalúayé's gifts of resilience, humility, and the ability to transmute pain into growth.
The evening will include:
Drumming and Song: We will raise our voices and spirits through traditional songs for Obalúayé, accompanied by the healing power of drums. These vibrations will prepare the space for renewal and invoke Obalúayé presence.
Cleansing Ritual: Using sacred herbs, water, and symbolic offerings, we will purify ourselves and release the burdens of 2024, stagnation, pain, and challenges to make way for clarity, health, and abundance in 2025.
Reflection & Affirmation: Participants will meditate on what they are releasing and what they are calling into their lives for the new year. Together, we will affirm:
