    Journey of a king

Born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, King H. Alejaibra Badu comes from a
prestigious family of indigenous healing practitioners, affluent entrepreneurs, and
philanthropists. With such a rich legacy, King Badu has been privileged to exude Black
excellence while traveling the globe, studying and teaching ancient indigenous healing
modalities. Highly intuitive from a young age, King Badu was fortunate to grow up in a family
    that nurtured these unique gifts.

King Badu's ancestors were free (not freed) people and freedom fighters who significantly financed various movements and initiatives for the advancement of Black people. They believed in action over complaints,
investing their resources to make a difference. In 1998, King Badu continued this legacy by
becoming a Lifetime Member of the N.A.A.C.P.

A child prodigy, King Badu graduated high school at the age of 16 with the highest
test scores in state history. In 2000, King Badu gained national attention after being discovered
by Queen Latifah, who cast him in the world's first race reality television show, "Trading
Place," produced by Queen Latifah, Bo Banks, and Warner Brothers. This led to national fame
and controversy, as King Badu's proud and free spirit challenged early television norms.

Despite an offer from Queen Latifah's camp to finance an Africana Studies degree at New York
University, King Badu chose to walk away from celebrity life to preserve his soul and true
essence. This decision eventually led to a move to Washington, DC, where King Badu founded
Alejaibra's House Works (formerly The Madison House), a highly spiritual and metaphysical Healing Art Society named in honor of his daughter, Madison. Her birth transformed King Badu’s perspective, inspiring a more loving and selfless approach to life, rooted in personal boundaries and the fight against all forms of
    oppression and self-limiting beliefs.

Madison's birth not only gave King Badu the freedom to be authentic but also motivated him to
share his knowledge with youth and adults. King Badu encourages others to dream boldly and
embrace the possibilities of life. In 2015, the first physical location of The Madison House
opened its doors in the heart of the predominantly Black Historic Anacostia neighborhood in Washington,
DC. In 2021 he purchased healing land for a second location to be opened in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria.

King Badu's passion for fun, freedom, and healing is unapologetically reflected in his music,
art, and lifestyle. His journey is a testament to the power of embracing one's heritage,
following one's intuition, and inspiring others to live life in full color.
